ok people you know the rules and im getting tired of having to remind you all of them

When registering you must fill out the bio section of the user account creation form with just a bit of info about yourself and by a bit I dont mean a single word all offending accounts that the bio was blank have been deleted from the server also all spammer/suspected hacker accounts have also been deleted next step if you lot dont start following the site rules will be an I.P ban so basically follow the rules or I can and will take action against your accounts

as some of you know that I do offer script installions, site setups and efiction mods, licenses for my efiction mods and screensavers, shortly I will be adding a new section to the site where you will be able to order these services from me

any users that have previously ordered any of my services an account will be created for you and you will recieve the login details once the system is up and running

I have discovered that the account system on the site does not like the - character in usernames and you will not be able to log into the site if your username contains a -

the simple solution is to use a space or an underscore (_) instead of the -

I will be looking into this issue further and will be looking through the members system to see if anyone else is affected by this and will take the appriopiate action

so for now please do not use a - in your username here at the main site , as far as I know the forums are not affected by this issue

for anyone else having this issue(before I go through the members system) feel free to contact me with your username as I can re-enable access for you

the domain transfer request has now been submitted and will begin in approximately 3 hours during as I have already said while I dont think that there will be any downtime there may be so this announcement is just to make you all aware of the possiblity of some downtime

hey everyone;

by the end of the week you will all recieve the fanfictionworld members email for feb with the usual site news and happenings and for those that accounts that it bounces back from this time your account will be locked for 3 days then if I dont hear from you within the 3 days after this time the account and its contents will be purged from my server same applies if your bio on your account is blank - bios are a required item on your profile here at fanfictionworld.org

also some of you may know in a few months the site will be due for its annual renewal so again I'll be mentioning donations tho I really dont like to! also nearer the time I'll be moving the fanfictionworld.org domain name to my other registrar (that wont affect any of you in any way) more will be in the next 2 newsletters to be sent

finally for now dont forget to register at the forums please as it needs more of you to use it

this week I will again be going through the members list and I will be deleting all members who have not logged in within 7 days of creating the account and those that have not been used for more than 90days with no stories attached to their account also I will be sending a final warning to those that have stories attached but who have not logged into the site for more than a year

in regard to the site rules - unused accounts will be removed from my server - there is no exception to this rule

also if you have not registered over at the fanfictionworld.org official forums (click forums on the main menu) then please do so

I would just like to say Happy Christmas to all members and to thank all of you who have supported the site by submitting your work to the site and/or posting at the forums during 2009!!!

Hopefully you'll continue to support the site and participate in both the site and forums more in 2010!. The submission list has now been cleared and all submitted work has now been either accepted or declined now, I would also like to tell you all that as of now the site is closed for submissions untill the 27th December 2009 (during this time you may browse the site and read the fanfictions freely you just wont be able to submit any writing to the site)  when we will reopen the site as normal

sometime starting this weekend I'll be changing the design of the webhosting / services sections and then they will be readded to both the sites random link block and the form

stuff in the webhosting section is if you want to apply for temoparary free hosting of a small site whislt the services section allows you to order things like script installations from me

also I'll be redesigning the whole of the site shop which I may intergrate the webhosting/services sections into as the current shop is no longer suitable for fanfictionworld.org once open you will be able to order both script installations and screensaver licenses and custom musical screensavers and all the fees gained from members buying my services will be helping the site stay online as all the fees will be going back into the site to keep the main server online :) more on this soon - comments are very welcome at the forums

yes I know its the 1st of September but I decided to hold off till today to give all of you who I had asked to login/update your accounts a chance to do so

anyhow maintance is now completed for August and all unused accounts have now been removed if your account got removed you are free to rejoin anytime provided that you will use the account otherwise it will just get removed again now before anyone complains I gave numerous extensions to the deadline before the server was ordered to remove inactive accounts so if your account got removed it was your fault not mine

so our member count took quite a hit in the latest maintance but I would rather have a site with 35 active members than one with 80 inactive accounts

to all the remaining active members this will be repeated next month so I suggest if you havant contributed to the site much that you go and register over at the forums and throw a few posts in on the forums and review storys here on the main site

I've said about unused accounts that drain my server resources will be removed therefore this week I will be going through the sites member list and logs to determine who is and who is not using their account on the site and the appriopiate action will be taken this will happen whether you have any submissions attached to your account or not I've been too easy on this rule lately and people are taking advantage of that so it stops now

for example if you have submitted one story but not logged in for 1/2 years that is still grounds for the account and its contents to be removed (not logging in for 1/2 years is excessive in my view whether you have anything attached to the account or not)

you all will recieve an email if this concerns you and then you will have 3 days to login to your account to stop it being locked / removed

also if your emails bounce back to me when I send them from the main fanfictionworld.org server then your account will be locked and then after 3 days removed as I am tired of asking you all to keep your email addresses current there are no exceptions to the account non-use rule and the keeping you email address current rule for reasons I've already explained about in the sites FAQ

again I am getting a large number of member email bouncing back to the main fanfictionworld.org server, so please make sure your registered email address is active and can recieve our email as from now on I will be suspending / deleting users accounts from the main server  that  do not follow the rule of keeping your email address correct with the system later I will be going through the email servers logs and I will post  a list of all member names that this concerns and if you choose not to correct it then your account  here at the site will be suspended and then deleted

I know things have been slow lately here at fanfictionworld but that should be changing this month as starting this week I'll be pushing advertising of the site more, and we still need staff to help run the site so go to the forums if you are interested in helping us out here, also i'll be pushing the need for help with donations to the site to help keep us online and also of course we need you users to submit your writing to the site too! as we are not getting enough submissions from you people

a site-wide email will be sent this week regarding these plans for fanfictionworld.org and any other issues  that I think of in the meantime if you have anything to add then please go to the forums and post there!
